Andrea LaBarge chooses GCMF as beneficiary

March 11, 2009

Photographer Andrea LaBarge has selected the Guitar Center Music Foundation as the beneficiary for a contest she has entered called “Name Your Dream Assignment.” Contestants were give the opportunity to pitch their most creative and inspiring photo shoot ideas in hopes of winning $50,000 to live out that dream. Andrea has proposed the idea of taking a road trip with her father Dennis LaBarge, who served as her photographic and musical inspiration growing up, on the historic Route 66, documenting the music along the way, from the anonymous to the famous, from the historic to the trendy. While on the trip, she plans to record her status in a blog that will contain photos and videos from her trip across the United States. After her trip, she plans to publish a coffee-table book containing the images from the trip and produce a gallery show of prints from the trip as well. All proceeds from the book and prints are to benefit the Guitar Center Music Foundation. Visit the link below, and vote for her idea to win! She must secure a spot in the top 20 by April 3, 2009, in order to move on in the competition.
